Sesi latihan bebas dan kualifikasi MotoGp
seri Assen Belanda telah selesai diselesaikan, Rossi berhasil meraih pole
position pertama musim ini dengan berhasil mencatatkan waktu 1 menit 32,627
detik.
Berbeda dengan seri MotoGp sebelumnya,
peraihan posisi pole posisi oleh Valentino Rossi seri MotoGp Assen Belanda
memang cukup mengejutkan. Dalam sesi kualifikasi seri MotoGp sebelumnya, Rossi
seperti kesulitan meraih posisi tiga besar dalam memulai balapan, namun seri
Assen sepertinya akan dimanfaatkan oleh Rossi dengan menempati grid depan saat
balapan.
Posisi dua dan tiga masing-masing diisi
oleh Alex Espargaro dan Marc Marquez, kemudian melengkapi posisi keempat adalah
Dani Pedrosa.
Posisi start kurang ideal diperoleh Jorge
Lorenzo, dia harus start dari posisi kedelapan. Seri MotoGp kali ini sepertinya
agak berbeda dengan seri MotoGp seri sebelumnya dimana biasanya yang menempati
grid kedelapan adalah Valentino Rossi, namun saat ini Jorge Lorenzo yang
menempati posisi tersebut. Sepertinya seri Assen Lorenzo harus memulai start
dengan bagus agar tidak ketinggalan dalam menjalani balapan.
Sementara itu, tim Ducati berhasil
menempatkan rider andalannya di posisi keenam yaitu Andrea Ianone. Pembalap andalan
Ducati lain, Andrea Dovizioso hanya bisa menempati posisi kesepuluh.
Dari catatan waktu hasil kualifikasi, jarak
pembalap peraih pole dengan posisi sepuluh besar tidak sampai 1 detik, ini
merupakan selisih waktu yang cukup ketat dan balapan sepertinya akan
berlangsung sengit.
